MTN Lagos Street Soccer winners celebrate with Eaglets

The winners of this year's edition of MTN Lagos Street Soccer, Championship, in male and female categories, ABS Street of Mosan Okunola LCDA and Triumph Football Academy, of Lagos West Island, respectively who are on training tour in United Arab Emirate were at the Mohammed Bin Zayed Stadium, Abu Dhabi, venue of the final match of the 2013 FIFA U-17 World Cup, where they watched the Nigerian Golden Eaglets defeat their Mexican counterparts 3-0 to lift the coveted trophy for a record fourth time.

The MTN Lagos Street Soccer champions were very elated to be part of Nigerian fans at the stadium to watch the match live and celebrate with the victorious team.

Speaking at the stadium, the captain of ABS Street team, Adigun Yussuf on behalf of his team members expressed their joy for being part of the glorious experience. "This is a life time experience. My joy today cannot be quantified. Watching a FIFA U-17 World Cup final live is a great experience on its own and also for Nigeria to carry the day is another wonderful thing.

I must really thank MTN for this great opportunity," he said. Also, the captain of the female team, Esther Emaowodia of Triumph Football Academy, Lagos Island East was also overwhelmed by the golden opportunity.

"This is amazing and wonderful indeed. I enjoyed every moment of the game and happy to be part of the celebration, the experience is unprecedented in my life. On behalf of my team I give big kudos to MTN," she said.

Meanwhile a member of the LOC, MTN Lagos Street Soccer, Bodunrin Olanipekun has encourage the street soccer champions to continue to be good ambassador of the country. The teams will continue on their training tour today, where they will engage some local teams in UAE in football matches before they return to the country.

MTN Lagos Street Soccer is an initiative of Lagos State and supported by MTN. The championship is in sixth edition.
