Comeback: Nsofor hails mates, media

Super Eagles striker, Victor Nsofor, has attributed his Eagles' return to his team mates who welcomed him back to the fold as well as the Nigerian media that made good case for him.

The Lokomotiv Moscow striker told National Mirror in Calabar that he was moved by the love showered on him by the technical crew and his mates who also clamoured for his return to the team The former Kwara United forward said he was fulfilled by the goal he scored against Walya Ibex of Ethiopia on Saturday to seal Nigeria's ticket to the World Cup.

"I will never forget the Nigerian media for their campaign to have me back in the team, I say big thanks for them," Nsofor said.

"When I scored the free kick goal, I knew God had completed His plans for me. Coming back to the team and scoring the winning was a great feeling.

"It was really nice to fee needed by team mates and that comfortable feeling alone spurred me on all game long."

The former Inter Milan player, however, said he was not new to scoring important and crucial goals for Nigeria.

Nsofor, who copped a minor muscle injury in the game and was ruled out of the game against Italy at Craven Cottage, London yesterday, was recalled by Coach Stephen Keshi for the Mandela Challenge against South Africa in August after he last played for his country in 2011.
