Fifa Confirms Burkina Faso Complaint

Fifa has confirmed the receipt of a complaint from Burkina Faso football federation concerning Tuesday's World Cup playoff second leg won by Algeria 1-0 in Blida.

The Burkinabe officials are contesting a number of decisions taken by the Senegalese referee Badara Diatta during the encounter including a disallowed goal in the first half and a yellow card shown to Algeria captain and goal scorer Madgid Bougherra 'instead of a red', when, being the last defender, tripled Burkina Faso captain Charles Kabore on the edge of Algeria box.

A verdict from Fifa is expected before December 5, a day before the World Cup draw.

Algeria keep their qualification intact for now awaiting Fifa's decision, which will likely not change their status due to similar circumstances in the first leg which were also denounced by Algeria.

l don't think FIFA's verdict on 5th December will change anything. Algeria can not be disqualified for the world cup in Brazil, as long as no unqualified Algerian player was fielded in the 2nd leg encounter.
