Ambrose Calls Premiership Excellent

Super Eagles centre half, Efe Ambrose has reacted angrily to insinuations that the Scottish Premiership is all about Celtic and lacking in genuine competition.

The Hoops beat Aberdeen 3-1 on Saturday to go five points clear at the top of the table in Scotland but Ambrose insists things are a lot more complicated than they appear on the surface.

"A lot of people think it's easy to play in Scotland but that's not correct because small teams no longer exist anywhere. Celtic has a solid squad so it looks like the others are not good enough," Ambrose explained.

Aberdeen, Motherwell, Dundee United and Inverness Caledonian Thistle are snapping at the heels of Celtic in the league this season and Ambrose who joined the Ibrox club from Ashdod in 2012 is full of respect for the accomplishments of the quartet.

"There is a good challenge this season from teams likes Aberdeen, Dundee United and Inverness who are all stepping up and playing some good football.

"I believe the (Scottish Premiership) is changing dramatically. If things continue like this, we will be as good as the English Premier League some day," he said.

Ambrose, who has made 13 league appearances for Celtic this season, has been capped 33 times by Nigeria.
