Uduaghan Tasks Deltans On Unity

DELTANS have been charged to be more united and shun all divisive tendencies to make the state and people politically, economically and socially more prosperous and the envy of other states in the country.

A Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, chieftain and House of Assembly aspirant come 2015, Mr. Vincent Uduaghan, made the call at the end of the 2nd edition of the Vincent Uduaghan Lawn Tennis Tournament, at the lawn tennis ground of Warri Club, yesterday, to mark his birthday.

He said the sponsorship of the yearly event was his contribution to sports development in Delta State as the secretary to the sport section of Warri Club.

Speaking at the event attended by some important personalities,   the Secretary to the Warri South Council and an executive member of the club, Mr. Eugene Ebisin called on Deltans embrace sports not only to keep fit but also to keep them more socially and politically united. Mr. Ebisin who reminded the people of the strong bond of friendship created between people of different ethnic background through sporting activities noted that just as football unites all Nigerians, so also lawn tennis is capable of uniting Deltans and applauded the sponsor, Mr. Vincent Uduaghan for creating this unique opportunity of cross-cultural interaction in the state.

The event which attracted participants from the three senatorial districts that make up the state saw winners going home with various prizes ranging from 43inch color Televisions, power generating sets, gas cookers, standing fans amongst other items worth millions of naira.
