Job Description:

•   Ensure proper functioning of day-to-day controls, periodic monitoring activities, timely identification and reporting of significant risks and losses and effectiveness of risk mitigation actions.

•   To provide various management and regulatory reports in relation to the banks exposures. Ensure data accuracy and completeness. Coordinate and consolidate all regulatory reports emanating from the department.

•   Assist the Business Head in directing and overseeing the day-to-day management of operational risks in the Credit Risk Control Department including driving and directing compliance.

•   Partner other departments and the business to ensure business growth is balanced with risk management and control.  

•   Assist the Head of credit Risk Control to monitor outstanding credit/security documents.

•   To assist the Unit Head in the creation and sustenance of a strong operational risk control environment by undertaking periodic self-assessment of key controls to assess the proper functioning and adequacy of existing controls and assist in coordinating, facilitating and promoting the understanding of operational risk and implementation and management of the OR within the unit.

Qualifications & Skills:

•   A good Degree in any of the Social Sciences or Engineering and professional qualification in ACCA, ICAN, CIMA or CFA.                  

•   Minimum of 2 years experience in operations or finance.

•   Strong understanding of credit administration and documentation

•   Good working knowledge of the bank's operating systems.

•   Good communication and inter-personal skills.

•   Good working knowledge of the Bank's products and services.

•   Proven supervisory and management skills.

•   Good computing skills including an advanced knowledge of Excel Application.

In compliance with the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Act of 2004, all applicants should ensure that they have completed the mandatory NYSC programme. A discharge certificate will be required as evidence of completion of the programme. Where an exemption has been granted, a certificate of exemption will also be required.
