Former Green Eagles captain Segun Odegbami has urged current Nigeria coach Stephen Keshi to strengthen his midfield ahead of Brazil 2014.
.
In order for his nation to do well at the 2014 FIFA World Cup finals next year, Odegbami has urged current national coach Keshi to add some much- needed spark into his midfield which the ex-players feels is uninspiring and weak on the ball.
.
"The team is presently strong but it can be a lot stronger with the presence of creativity," the 61- year-old told the News Agency of Nigeria.
.
"Right now, we don't have the creative midfield to be able to hold on to the ball for us and keep control. We lose the ball too easily."
.
"All of this is as a result of the midfield; we just don't have that creativity in the midfield that the team requires at the moment."
.
While the ex-skipper was adamant that there is need to be a change in the middle of the park, he also insisted that it was up to the coach to make the decision on which players to put in the team.
.
"I am sure [Keshi] knows what the problem is, it is for him to get the right players now aside the ones that he has played," the former winger continued. "Once he can achieve that, I think the team will be a lot stronger."
