Jose Mourinho Rules Out Juan Mata Transfer In January

Jose Mourinho insists that Juan Mata won't be sold in the January transfer window.

The Spaniard has found himself down the pecking order this season, and has consistently been linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge.

Paris Saint-Germain were linked with the Chelsea man over the summer, while recent reports suggest that both Manchester United and Napoli are keen on securing his services.

Despite that, and the fact he appeared unhappy with Mourinho's decision to sub him during Chelsea's win over Southampton on Wednesday, the 'Special One' insists he will remain at Stamford Bridge for the rest of the season.

"He trained today in a fantastic way," said the Chelsea boss.

"I think he is focused on what I said after the game at Southampton, when I said 'I don't want him to leave'.

"I think he is focused on that and not on when I said 'the door is always open'.

"He trained in a fantastic way and so there are no problems."

Both Arsenal and Tottenham were linked with Mata, twice Chelsea's player of the season, last summer, while Manchester United appear keen on taking him to Old Trafford.

When asked if there was a chance that Chelsea could sell the former Valencia ace to a Premier League rival, Mourinho responded: No, I keep saying that I want him to stay.

"There are no offers for him."

He is just joking. Mata will quit Chelsea to either Manchester United or other non english clubs. He wants to play for Spain in Brazil.

Jose Mourinho will never succeed in forcing Mata to still stay at the Stamford Bridge. It's obvious he wants to go.
