Nigeria to launch 2 satellites into orbit

Nigeria will launch two earth observation satellites, NigeriaSat-2 and NigeriaSat-X into the orbit on July 7, 2011.

The Director-General, National Space Research and Development Agency, Dr. Seidu Mohammed, announced at a press conference in Abuja on Thursday.

This is a good news. Nigeria on the move again. I hope this will not be another wasteful venture. The SAT-3 launched during Obasanjo's administration was no where to be found in the spatial environment. There was report that it has lost. Has it been found?
