University of Auckland is offering up to 3 doctoral scholarships for international students (except New Zealand or Australia) within the Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences. Scholarships will consist of a fortnightly stipend, an annual tuition fees credit, a one-off relocation grant, health insurance and an annual allowance for travel. Selection will be based on academic merit, quality of the applicant's research proposal and endorsements by the proposed supervisor and Head of School. The application deadline is 30 April 2014.

Eligibility: The Scholarships will be awarded to students who have paid the fees, or arranged to pay the fees, for full-time enrollment in a PhD degree in the Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences at The University of Auckland. The Scholarships are tenable only by students who are neither citizens nor permanent residents of New Zealand or Australia, and comply with the requirements of the domestic fees policy for PhD students.

Scholarship Description: The Deans International Doctoral Scholarships (FMHS) were established in 2011 and are funded by the Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences at the University of Auckland. The main purpose of the Scholarships is to attract international students of high calibre to pursue a research doctoral degree in the Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences.

Number of award(s): 3 doctoral scholarships will be offered.

Duration of award(s): These doctoral scholarships are offered for up to 36 months.

What does it cover? Scholarships include up to $25,000 stipend, compulsory fees, relocation grant, travel allowance and health insurance.

Selection Criteria: Selection will be based on academic merit (measured by the grade point average assessed over the applicant's two most recent years of equivalent full-time study), quality of the applicant's research proposal and endorsements by the proposed supervisor and Head of School.

Notification: Successful applicants will be notified approximately six weeks after the closing date by letter or email.

How to Apply: Application is made to the Scholarships Office. Applicants must also complete and submit an Application for Admission (AfA) online.

Scholarship Application Deadline: The application deadline is 30 April 2014.
