Job Title: Experienced Risk Management Consultant (Contract Based)

Location: Lagos, Nigeria

Job Objective: Assist in the delivery of world-class risk management consulting to a top Bank

Reporting relationship: Reports to Head, Risk Management & Consulting.

Job Responsibilities:

Primary Assignment

•   Consulting with clients to understand Risk Management needs and objectives

•   Developing appropriate project documentation

•   Develop custom solutions and advise clients on best practices in risk management strategies

•   Implementing programs using generally accepted project management and consulting practices

•   Conducting management and employee training sessions for clients as needed

•   Performing ERM audits/assessments at client sites

•   Participating in and providing oversight for the core Enterprise Risk Management framework design

•   Risk review of banking activities on client site

Other Activities:

• Assist in the selection and tailoring of approaches, methods and tools to support project deliverables

• Actively participate in decision making with engagement management and seek to understand the broader impact of current decisions

• Generate innovative ideas and challenge the status quo

• Facilitate use of technology–based tools or methodologies to review, design and/or implement products and services

• Provide engagement management including engagement planning, billing, and team management

• Deliver services that meet Kedari Consulting's engagement leader specifications

• Take an integral role in client retention, relationship building, and communication

• Create and contribute to internal and external communications including technical content of reports, proposals, etc.

• Lead/assist in major tasks on project

• Participate in training and development programs

• Evaluate, counsel, mentor and provide feedback on performance on the project.

• Participate in public speaking at internal and external events

• Network through and attend professional organization sponsored meetings and conferences Competence Requirements (Generic & Core Skills)

• Knowledge of business and technology requirements; internal control testing; and process changes to assist with supervision and compliance is a plus • Must have excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and projects

• Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills in English Language.

• Strong analytical and interpersonal skills are required

• Proficiency in MS office products, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint

Specification/ Qualification and Experience:

• BA/BSc Business or related field

• Research capability and experience

• Msc/MBA degree is an added advantage

• 10 – 15 plus years experience with increasing responsibility in Banking and/or Financial Service industry

• Commercial banking experience, preferably in an internal audit, consulting, compliance, risk management, or operations management role

• Ability to travel (primarily international) up to 75% is required.

• Ability to work independently and demonstrate strong initiative.

• Ability to adapt to multiple demands and changing priorities.

• Project management experience is very important

• Good banking industry experience in the area of credit and operations

• Experience within the Investment Management, specifically financial service industry, will also be considered

• Experience performing Risk Assessments and Diagnostics, Framework design/implementation for Banks

Working hours: 8am-5pm Monday – Friday

Available for at least 120 days.
