Job Title: Senior Engineer, Data Centre Mechanical and Electrical

Location: Lagos, Nigeria

Job Summary: Monitor and control network element capacity utilization in line with industry standard and prepare reports, where applicable, on capacity constraints to ensure relevant units provide possible equipment upgrades.

Principal Functions:

•   Support Network Quality Assurance in regular monitoring, tracking and reporting of discrepancies in network elements and reporting same to the relevant stake holders.

•   Keep an updated list and layout of all nodes installed in the data centre indicating clearly their details/specifications near and far end connectivity.

•   Execute all DC Operations activities in compliance with approved changes.

•   Ensure all installed equipment in the data centre are maintained in accordance with the outlined maintenance schedules and procedures while keeping a comprehensive maintenance history of all equipment.

•   Build and maintain effective relationships with switch implementation vendors as well as coordinate maintenance activities between the vendors and internal stakeholders in terms of planning, scheduling and database management.

•   Ensure that the organizational quality policy is complied with on all core network O&M and identify those areas where the quality policy needs improvement for escalation to quality assurance unit's appropriate action.

Educational Requirements:

•   First degree or equivalent in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or relevant discipline.

•   Postgraduate (MSC) / professional qualification in a related field will be an added advantage.

Experience,Skills & Competencies:

•   4 years relevant experience in Mechanical/Electrical  (Power)  systems (Diesel Generators, Rectifiers, UPS, Inverters, PDF/APD panels, GTS/ATS/AMF panels, Gear Switches, HVAC, Public mains supply, power and signal cabling, safety and isolation systems, etc) within a large telecoms or other related technical organization with extensive industry experience on power operation and maintenance.

•   Have completed NYSC or possess exemption certificate.

•   Be highly focused and success driven.

•   Exceptional ability to think and plan proactively.
