West Africa Merit Scholarship at University of Aberdeen in UK, 2014

University of Aberdeen is inviting application for West Africa merit scholarship to commence full time postgraduate masters program in September 2014. Nigerian/Ghanaian nationals, who are normally resident in Nigeria/Ghana are eligible for this scholarship. Five scholarships of approx £2000 each will be awarded in either the Colleges of Arts and Social Sciences or the College of Life Sciences and Medicine. Applicants must also be a privately funded student and not in receipt of any financial assistance from the Nigerian/Ghanaian Government. The application deadline is 30 June 2014.

Eligibility:

-Nigerian/Ghanaian nationals, who are normally resident in Nigeria/Ghana-To be considered for the scholarship you will need to have applied to the University of Aberdeen and been offered a place starting in September 2014.

-You must also be a privately funded student, and not in receipt of any financial assistance from the Nigerian/Ghanaian Government.

-The scholarship can only be held by a student of the University commencing study in September 2014 – it cannot be transferred to other institutions.

-Candidates are required to hold the equivalent of a 1st class British Honours degree or better from a recognised Nigerian/Ghanaian university.

Scholarship Open for International Students: Students of Nigeria and Ghana can apply for these merit scholarships.

Scholarship Description: This funding opportunity is open to Nigerian students undertaking a full-time taught postgraduate programme in either the Colleges of Arts and Social Sciences or the College of Life Sciences and Medicine. To be eligible for this award, candidates must hold the equivalent of a First class British Honours degree from a recognised Nigerian university. Candidates must also be self-funded, and not in receipt of any financial assistance from the Nigerian government.

Selection Criteria: Priority will be given to students who do not already have additional scholarship funding (student loans excluded) and to those who have firmly accepted either a conditional or unconditional offer for a place at the University at the time the selection committee meets.

Notification: Successful applicants will be informed by 4 July 2014.
