Job Title: Financial Accountant

Location: Lagos, Nigeria

Roles and responsibilities:

Our client, a non-bank financial institution providing services in Private Equity, Capital raising and Investment management to a diverse base of investors and business owners with strong Interest in Nigeria and the broader West African economic region now requires a Financial Accountant for their Lagos office

Key responsibilities:

•   Responsible for overall Finance and Accounting activities of the company and their Subsidiaries

•   Support and supervise junior accounting staff to ensure the effective operation of the finance and accounts departments

•   Ensure that the financial policies /procedures of the company are implemented Efficiently and in line with generally accepted accounting practices (NASB & IFRS)

•   Spearhead the conversion to IFRS

•   Manage the bank and treasury processes of the company

•   Institute adequate financial control systems and processes to secure the assets and Efficient operation of the organization

•   Develop key financial processes including budgeting, management & financial Accounting/reporting

•   Daily management accounts

•   Monthly management reports and analyses

•   Monthly, quarterly and annual budgeting and variation reporting

Qualifications:

•   Must hold a professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, or ACMA)

•   Minimum of 5 years post-NYSC relevant professional experience in accounting or audit related functions with a Capital Markets Operator or Financial Institution

•   Knowledge of IFRS

•   Must have excellent hands-on experience with at least one Accounting package and MS Office Suite

•   Must exhibit good organizational and communication skills with excellent command of spoken and written English

•   Must be a team player
