89 Students Graduate With 1st Class From UNILAG

The University of Lagos, Akoka convocation scheduled to hold next week is set to produce 89 first class students for the 2012/2013 session.

About 9,729 students will be graduating from the institution according to the Vice Chancellor UNILAG, Prof. Rahamon Bello, of which there would be an award of first and higher degrees, diploma, certificates as well as prize giving.

A break-down shows that 482 students would be graduating from the Faculty of Arts, 535 from Business Administration, 246 from Environmental Sciences, 209 from the Faculty of Law, while 141, 420, 344, 655 and 493 others would come from the faculties of Pharmacy, Education, Engineering, Social Sciences and Sciences, respectively.

Also 415 students would be graduating from the College of Medicine, comprising the Faculties of Basic Medical Sciences, Clinical Sciences and Dental Sciences while the Distance Learning Institute (DLI) would be graduating 968 students.

The School of Post Graduate Studies would graduate 4,821.

The Vice Chancellor said that the number of students to be admitted to higher degrees are 335 for Postgraduate Diploma, 4,380 for Master's Degree, one for  Master of Philosophy and 105 for Doctor of Philosophy (PhD).
