Sokoto State Scholarship Worth N331m Benefits 164 Students

The Sokoto State Scholarship Board has announced an overseas scholarship worth N331.63 million for 164 medical and engineering students of the state.

The information officer of the Sokoto state scholarship board while announcing this said that the scholarship will take the students to the following universities abraod; Khartoum College of Medical Sciences, Afhad University for Women, Nahda International College, International University of Africa and National University all in Sudan.

This scholarship funds will cover the cost of tuition, registration, transportation and other needs of the students which the Sokoto state governor, Aliyu Wamakko have already approved.

Governor Wamakko said that the scholarship is in line with his administration's emphasis on sponsorship female students to tackle the shortage of female medical personnel in the state's medical institutions.

He however advised the benefiting students to complement the government's gesture by dedicating themselves to their studies and by being good ambassadors of the state and Nigeria.
