Edo state: Workers to receive N18,000.34 from June 1

Edo State civil servants will receive N18,000.34 as new minimum wage with effect from June 1 2011, following an agreement reached on Monday between the state government and organised labour in the state.

In a communiqué issued at the end of the negotiation on the implementation of the new minimum wage between the state government and the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Trade Union Congress (TUC) and Joint Negotiating Council (JNC), the parties agreed that the minimum wage in the Edo State Public Service would be N18,000.34 for the lowest grade of employees, namely: GL 01 Step 01, with from June 1, 2011.
