PURPOSE: – To improve the organization’s market position and achieve financial growth defining long-term organisational strategic goals, building key customer relationships, identifing business opportunities, negotiating and closing business deals and maintaining extensive knowledge of current market conditions. The Business Development Manager will work in a senior sales position within the company relating with the internal team, marketing staff, and other managers to increase sales opportunities and thereby maximize revenue for the organization. He/She will find potential new customers, present to them, ultimately convert them into clients, and continue to grow business in the future. He/She will also help manage existing clients and ensure they stay satisfied and positive, calling on clients, often being required to make presentations on solutions and services that will meet or predict their needs.

JOB SPECIFICATION:

Knowledge, Experience& Personal Competencies: – New Business Development – To prospect for new clients by networking, cold calling, advertising or other means of generating interests from potential clients. – Forecast sales targets and ensure they are met by the team – Plan persuasive approaches and pitches that will convince potential clients to do business with the company – A thorough knowledge of the market, the solutions/services the company can provide, and of the company’s competitors – Identifies trendsetter ideas by researching industry and related events, publications, and announcements; tracking individual contributors and their accomplishments. – Locates or proposes potential business deals by contacting potential partners; discovering and exploring opportunities. – Screens potential business deals by analyzing market strategies, deal requirements, potential, and financials; evaluating options; resolving internal priorities; recommending equity investments. – Closes new business deals by coordinating requirements; developing and negotiating contracts; integrating contract requirements with business operations. – Enhances organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

Knowledge: – Bsc. and Msc in a Management/Marketing Course – Professional Certification will be an added advantage – Minimum of 6 years’ experience in Banking/financial industry – Last position occupied should be a deputy manager – Excellent organisational skills – Excellent communication and interpersonal skills – Ability to embrace new initiatives in practical ways in order to sell such ideas effectively ICT savvy.
