Leicester City offer £4m for Yakubu

Championship side, Leicester City, have made a bid for Everton striker Yakubu Aiyegbeni after first rejecting the offer to keep the player when he played on loan at The Walkers Stadium last season, NSNO.co.uk reported on Sunday.

Leicester manager Sven-Goran Eriksson has tabled £4m for the former Portsmouth player who scored 11 goals in 20 appearances for Leicester season. Eriksson has yet to sign a striker in the summer and Yakubu seems to be his best bet.

With Yakubu left out of Everton pre-season tour to the USA, it goes to show that the David moyes side are not willing to keep him in the team.

However, Eriksson is looking to seize the opportunity to bring the striker back in his fold.

Yakubu once said he would love to stay back at Leicester City.
