The jungle ‘justice’ in Warri

Recent reports of the growing incidence of lynching criminal suspects in Warri, Delta State, give cause for the state of the rule of law in the oil city. Two weeks ago, four suspects accused of having snatched some jewels from a female victim at the Hausa Quarters of the city were given hot chase by a furious mob, caught in front of the nearby God's Kingdom Society's headquarters and set ablaze with used tyres seized from roadside vulcanizers.

People take law in their hands, because the government have failed woefully in administering justice to political and domestic criminals.
