Jigawa State College of Education invites applicantions from suitable qualified candidates to fill the following position:

Position: Librarian
Salary Scale: CONPCASS 13

Qualification:
A candidate for this post must possess Ph.D., MLS or BLS with 9 years, 12 years and 15 years cognate experience respectively plus a membership or fellowship of a professional body in Library /Information Services and NYSC (discharge) certificate.

Responsibilities and Duties:
•   Responsible to the provost for a day-today operation of the college library
•   Ensuring the maintenance of the college library
•   Serves as a member of the College Academic Board
•   Advises the College Academic Board on new academic programmes
•   Performing other related duties that may be assigned to him by the Provost and/or Council

General Conditions of Service:
•   Appointment of a successful candidate may be permanent after 2 years probationary period.
•   Confirmation will follow upon satisfactory recommendation receive from appropriate officer.
•   Successful candidate who will be joining the college on transfer of service will not be affected by the above.
•   Salary, other fringe benefits and conditions are as contained in the College conditions of service.
