European and Spanish champion, Barcelona, were beaten by Mexican side, Chivas Guadalajara 4-1, in the ongoing 2011 world football challenge. David Villa scored first for Barcelona in the first half, but the Spanish giant conceded 4 goals in the second half.

The World Football Challenge (WFC) is a pre-season exhibitional international club association football competition featuring football clubs from Europe and North America, which has been held since the summer of 2009. There was no WFC in 2010, due to the 2010 FIFA World Cup.

Real Madrid are the reigning champions.
