Armed Robbers Strike, Kill 3 And Policeman in Ogun State

Four people, including an assistant superintendent of police, were killed on Thursday, as a gang of robbers attacked three commercial banks in Ilaro, Ogun State and went away with an unspecified amount of money.

Nigerian Tribune gathered that the robbers stormed Ilaro, the political headquarters of Yewa, as early as 8.30 a.m. in four vehicles, shooting indiscriminately to scare people away.
The robbers, it was further learnt, also struck in Ilogbo and Ota areas of the state.

The deceased police officer, identified as Wilson, was killed in a gun battle between the police and the robbers, while the other victims were reported to have been killed by stray bullets.

Details of the incident were sketchy at the time of filing this report, but the Nigerian Tribune gathered that the robbers operated for one hour unhindered.
