Nigeria Police listed among world’s 40 press predators

The Nigeria Police Force have been listed among the world's 40 worst predators of the press by the Paris based Media watchdog, RSF.

In a report released yesterday to mark this year's World Press Freedom Day, RSF said: "The Nigeria Police Force have emerged as the leading source of abuses against the press; with poorly trained police encouraged to use violence against journalists".

Nigeria is one of the world's most violent countries for journalists and the police are to blame, the report stated.
