FORMER Minister Nasir el-Rufai made his first major public appearance in two years yesterday.[/size] It was not to open his rumoured bid for public office, but to begin the battle to clear his name of many allegations of corruption.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) yesterday granted bail to the former Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) after being gritted for about seven hours.
