Osogbo Magistrate Court Remands Two Robbery Suspects

An Osogbo Magistrate Court, last Thursday remanded Akinbusuyi Alexander, 27, for alleged stealing.

The charge sheet stated that the suspect conspired with others currently at-large to commit felony to wit; armed robbery, contrary and punishable under section 516 of the state criminal law.

The suspects were said to have armed themselves with guns and other dangerous weapons and robbed one Mayowa Adeolu of his Toyota Camry car with registration number "Lagos FZ 800 LND" valued N1.2 million.

The offence was allegedly committed on August 12, 2011 at Ile-Ife in Ife Central Local Government Council Area of the state at about 8:29pm.

It further stated that the offence the accused committed was contrary to and punishable under section 402(2) (a) of the state's criminal code.

Presiding magistrate, Mr. Olusola Aluko, then remanded the accused person at Ilesha Prison till November 16, 2011.

In a related development, Anthony Ibrahim Okoro, 21, was also alleged to have conspired with other at-large to commit felony to wit; armed robbery.

According to the charge sheet made available to OSUN DEFENDER, the accused was alleged of conspiring with some unidentified people, arming themselves with guns and bottles and also robbed one Mr. Olanipekun Kayode of some items, which included: a set of home theatre music gadgets, two cable television decoder, a complete role of service wire, a laptop, a desktop computer, 9 bottles of wine and cash, all valued N1,306,500.

The alleged offence was said to have been committed on April 21, 2011, along GRA in Inisha area of Odo-Otin Local Government Council Area of Osun State, at about 8pm.

The charge sheet further read that, the offence of the accused was contrary to Section 6(b) and punishable under Section 1(1) of the Robbery and Firearms (Special Provisions) Act Cap R II volume 14, Laws of Federation of Nigeria 2004.

Presiding Magistrate, Mr. Olusola Aluko, then remanded the accused at Ilesha prison and subsequently adjourned the matter till November 16, 2011.
