The UCLA/Johnson & Johnson Management Development Institute (MDI) for HIV/AIDS service providers is a one-week intensive program designed to enhance the management skills of program managers and leaders of African organizations devoted to the care, treatment and support of people and their families living with this disease.

The program has been designed by world-class management faculty from the prestigious University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA) and delivered in conjunction with instructors from African universities.

The program is funded by Johnson & Johnson, one of the most admired companies in the world today, and is offered in cooperation with AMREF, The African Medical and Research Foundation, GIMPA, The Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration and The University of Cape Town Graduate School of Business.

In 2010, three installations of the MDI will be held:
-For East African organizations: 11-17 April, 2010 in Nairobi, Kenya.
-For Southern African organizations: 22-28 August, 2010 in Cape Town, Africa.
-For West African organizations: 29 August-4 September, 2010 in Accra, Ghana.
