The Osun State government has rolled out drums to mark the one year anniversary of the existence of the present administration of Governor Rauf Aregbesola with a vow to set up a committee to probe how the ousted administration of illegal Governor Olagunsoye Oyinlola spent the public money.

Answering questions from the audience at an unusual interactive session tagged "Ogbeni Till Daybreak" held between 10pm of Wednesday and 5am of Thursday as part of the activities marking the anniversary, as well as a World Press Conference on Thursday, the governor said that he had been trying to wave the unscrupulous spending of public fund under the ousted administration, but for what he called senseless assessment of his administration by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) inspite of its woeful performance while in power.

Aregbesola who received commendations from the audience at the event and callers from homes on the fateful night took a swipe on the PDP and reiterated that within a year of his administration, he has been able to surpass what the PDP government did for seven and a half years.

He said that the PDP government between 2007 and 2010 when the administration was chased out of power, received N56.4billion including the allocation and excess crude funds, and it spent N14 billion on projects, even though the projects were either not completed or not carried out at all, saying that "we thought we should wave their misdeeds, but it seems that they are yet to come back to their senses and realize that they are thieves, but now, they will vomit all what they have swallowed".

The governor who reiterated that all the while, he had been planning on how to manage the resources of the state to develop the state, added that despite the debt burden he met on ground when he assumed power, he now had N32 billion for the development of the state, just as he added that he would use his intellect to carry out N320 billion projects with the money.

He further noted that even though works had commenced, he would construct roads that would continue to be reference points to the whole world; he would renew urban centers and beautify them; he would cater for the welfare of workers as he had been doing and he would rebuild schools to make them compete with any school anywhere in the world.

At the press conference, the governor showcased a Computer Learning Tablet, which he said, would be distributed to students at High School levels for them to be able to read at anytime and anywhere.

He said that 39 subjects would be packaged in the tablet of knowledge, West Africas School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) past questions would be installed and it will accommodate all text books for secondary schools, saying that the target was to reduce the level of failure of students at the secondary school.

As much as he was determined to turn around the education sector in the state, the governor warned teachers who were reported to be charging students to desist from doing so, saying that whoever is caught collecting money from the students for any reason would be sacked, just as he noted that his administration was determined to operate an uninterrupted free education in the state.

Aregbesola who recounted some of his landmark achievements within one year of his administration, noted that due to his determination to fulfill the promises he made to the people of the state, he was able to employ 20,000 youths within his 100 days in office; which, he said, had been a reference point from all over the world.

The governor further noted that due to the proactive measure taken by his administration, his government was able to prevent flooding despite the heavy rainfall and flood disasters in the neighbouring states this year.

According to him, the Osun Clean (O'CLEAN) programme has gone a long way in making people to imbibe the culture of cleanliness, adding that the programme has also become a reference point all over the world.

He also noted that his administration has been rendering assistance to farmers with a view to ensuring a massive food production and ensure that they get markets to sell the farm produce, adding that whatever it takes his government would do everything possible to ensure that farming becomes wealth-creating venture in the state.
