Mission:

•   The Senior Project Manager 3G has the responsibility to manage successfully the implementation of the EMTS 3G project, on time, on scope, on budget as defined in the RPIS, improving profitability, ensuring Quality execution and customer satisfaction.

•   The SPM will drive project team and manage customer relationship in the scope of the 3G contract.

Project scope:

•   Phase 1 of the project, currently ongoing, includes 162 Node B sites covering 4 cities in the South region of Nigeria and associated MW backhauling network.

•   Phase 2 of the project, starting in September 2011, will include 420 Node B sites covering the whole South region of Nigeria and associated MW backhauling network.

•   The 3G project is part of a multi-phase Turn-key Mobile Network contract between ALU and EMTS, a subsidiary of Etisalat.

Key responsibilities: –          Ensure that the project is delivered within the approved budget and profitability forecast. On the basis of the Cost Breakdown Structure CBS), manage the cost to complete and cost to ontrol. –          Implement profitability improvement actions. –          Anticipate risk and evaluate related financial and customer satisfaction impacts. –          Acts as the key customer interface to the Customer for all project related business extension –          Manage project, implement corrective and improvement actions. –          Manage project, monitor and control progress against a baseline plan. –          Allocate tasks and priorities as needed. –          Provide the necessary Project Metrics (eg Effort to date, Estimated Cost to Complete, Estimated effort at Completion). –          Report the relevant SPM KPIs and milestones defined in the reporting tool via the Project Management KPI web-based tool –          Manage internal project review. –          Propose and implement customer-reporting strategy –          Structure and provide project documentation in accordance with standards and approved by all relevant parties, assuring quality and alignment with entire project. –          Define and optimize resources allocation to the project –          Assign tasks and missions. Secure task execution subcontracted to internal or external Service Center (Service Team, External subcontractor, Service partner, TAC...) according to WBS. –          Build the project team, manage people within the Project team –          Propose/Define customer relationship strategy with the KAM/Account team. –          Assure prime customer interface during project execution: Maintain constant customer liaison to ensure smooth handling of Issues as they might arise. Ensure customer input to the project is received in a timely and effective manner in order to meet project objectives and schedules. Obtain customer input sign-off of completed deliverables and formal customer acceptance of project completion. –          Accountable for forecast accuracy –          Lead contract administration (order management, billing and payment...). –          Manage contract (claim management and change management) with the KAM/Account team and Contract management –          Manage customer expectations –          Adapt PM best practices fulfillment as per Quality guidelines

Qualifications & Experience: –          5 years of proven record of successful management of complex Mobile projects –          Proven Knowledge of and strong understanding of generic and ALU-specific Project Management Tools and Methodology –          Good communication skills, experienced in managing customer expectations and escalations –          Good organization and team management skills –          Ability to work under pressure and reach tight implementation deadlines  –          Good knowledge of 3G networks is a plus –          Experience of working in Nigeria or other countries in Africa is a plus
