Eligibility:
Admission is based on academic excellence and it is mandatory for applicants to have a recognized Master Degree (M.A., M.S., etc...) or a degree at the level of a Master Degree (for example, 300 ECTS credits in the European system) in biology or the natural sciences or MD, VetD , engineer etc.

Any additional studies (second Bachelor degree, Master degree, or graduate studies) should be mentioned in the application. Documented interest in research like activities (e.g. demonstrated in the form of master thesis work, or participation in research related activities) is of importance.

For some projects a specific background is requested. It is clearly defined in the application form. Language requirements Fluent English is requested.

Scholarship Description:
The European Brain Council's study of the economic burden of brain disorders showed that 12 major neurological diseases cost the European economy and national health systems nearly 400 billion euros in 2004, and that brain disorders affected 127 million Europeans in 2006 (European Journal of Neuroscience, Vol 33, p 767, 2011).

Research programs at the forefront of neuroscience will have direct biomedical applications that improve quality of life for many people and address socio-economic challenges.

NeuroTime students' scholarships are awarded exclusively for a full-time enrolment in one of the projects. On an individual basis. This might be changed due to maternity leave, chronic illness, etc.

Students benefiting from an Erasmus Mundus Joint Doctorate scholarship cannot benefit from another European Community grant while pursuing their Erasmus Mundus PhD studies.
