BlackBerry will enter the Finnish smartphone market in April, becoming available to local customers through telecom operator Cubio. Finland is the only European country where BlackBerry is yet to be introduced.

Like Finland's own Nokia, Blackberry's maker, Canadian Research in Motion (RIM), has been losing ground on the global smartphone market. BlackBerry is doing well in the United States, according to research firm International Data Corporation (IDC), but even there it has been in decline. RIM's problems include launch delays related to a new operating system.

According to Forbes magazine, BlackBerry's popularity among corporate users is one of its strengths. Initially, BlackBerry was not in the phones business -- it first became a household name as a handheld emailing device.

I hope they will be able to sell, the finnish market is so narrow and well structure that its takes really a weird strategy to penetrate the market.

l am sure foreigners in Finland would boast the sells of Blackberry. Loads of the them can't wait to start using BB. :)

As far as I am concerned. BB is not a special feature because there are several applications that can achieve that on Android powered smartphones. Samsung low-end smartphones can offer such. Believe me! It is cheaper and Android is an open source Mobile OS with community supports.

I think other smart phone now has pinging features, so its really nothing special. However i know many foreigners will receive and take it with joy.
