Unclaimed dividends hit N40bn – SEC

Director-General of the Securities and Exchange Commission, SEC, Ms. Arunma Oteh, yesterday, disclosed that the shareholders unclaimed dividends with quoted companies now stood at about N40 billion, stressing that the Commission will engage the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, to mandate banks to accept dividend warrant into savings account as a way of tackling the rising unclaimed dividends in the capital market .
