Understanding legal requirements of each countries and define appropriate actions to achieve compliance. Be in contact with Governments for permitting issue

Coordinate HSE activities in those countries where there is not an HSE Local Responsible

Be the main contact for the integration of Polar Project with company structure and procedures.

Oversee HSE activities in Nigeria (Operations, Supply Chain and FISE), coordinating the local HSE Nigeria Responsible person

Assure proper communication with major customers and verify customer's requirements are met. Be the main referent to attend customer's audits.

Identifies applicable legal requirements for each country of Sub-Saharan Africa and ensures compliance.

Supports new initiatives in the region (new facilities, new yards, new commercial agreements)

Define, implement and follow up the HSE Management Program of each facility. Supports the implementation of proper HSE training

Assure full implementation of HESE Training and contribute to knowledge sharing as internal instructor

Carry out internal HSE audits on all activities of Sub-Saharan Africa region.

Availability to travel among Sub-Saharan countries.

The person should have previous experience as HSE Coordinator/Manager in a manufacturing environment and be an administrative support for FISE (Should know/learn the legal HSE requirements/certifications needed by FISE  and assure that they are trained to perform all activities in compliance with HESE procedures)

Ability to understand the business, its context and its future evolution: constant updating of his/her unit management and conduction of the necessary reporting.

Personal commitment, tenacity and energy applied to his/her management. Ability to solve problems in order to achieve results

Ability to guide, co-ordinate and control his/her team towards the Business objectives

Ability to develop his/her employees

Ability to manage information in a timely and effective manner, developing cooperation with others and choosing the best communication channel and style according to the

Ability to create collective knowledge inside and outside work team, sharing, registering and documenting ideas/know-how/information/experiences on a shared basis and collaborating preparing materials for training activities


Engineering Bachelor’s degree (B.Sc.)

A minimum of five (5) years working experience

HSE knowledge and experience and advanced NEBOSH certification will be an added advantage

Competent in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power point & Outlook)

Proactive, Good Communication Skills, Networking Skills, Leadership, Knowledge Sharing

Good communication skills - Oral & Written

Good organisational and planning skills


Rigorous and in a continuous personal & professional improvement process
