Finland’s President Niinistö Meets Obama in Seoul

Finland's President Sauli Niinistö has met with his U.S. counterpart Barack Obama at the Nuclear Security Summit in Seoul. Niinistö and Obama held discussions during a working dinner arranged by the conference hosts.

Niinistö said afterwards that Barack Obama seemed very well informed about Finland. The President added that Obama, for example, was very well aware of Finland's good relations with Russia. Both Presidents also discussed the Finnish and European economic situations.

No invitation was presented to Finland's new president. Niinistö said contacts will continue as before on the basis of good relations.
