Taraba assures corps members of adequate security

Corps members serving in Taraba State have been assured of adequate welfare and security.

Taraba State Governor, Danbaba Danfulani Suntai who was represented by his deputy, Sani Abubakar Danladi gave the assurance during the passing out parade of the corps members to mark the end of their orientation at the camp in Jalingo.

He pleaded with them to  cooperate with host communites in their bid to bring change to the Nation.

Governor Danbaba Suntai said the orientation was primarily to instill discipline and cultural values into corps members for the task of ensuring development in their respective areas of primary assignments.

He reiterated the present administration's continued support to all programmes and policies of the NYSC in the state especially the new posting policy which places emphasis on Agriculture, Education, primary Health care and Infrastructures.

He called on the corps members to accept their posting in good faith and appreciated the efforts of the security agencies for making the orientation a success.

Speaking at the occasion the chairman NYSC governing board, Abdulhadi Haruna Lau who represented by the permanent Secretary Ministry of Youths, Sports and Culture, Hussaini Modibbo appealed to the people of the state ti treat the youth Corps members as their children.

He also urged the host communities to allow the corps members mingle freely with them for the purpose of achieving national unity, integration and development to justify the establishment of the scheme.

Earlier in her address, the state coordinator of the NYSC, Zainab Isa said the Corps members posted to the state are unique adding that they have come at the time that  the nation was looking unto the youths for development especially at the grass roots.

She equally thanked the chairman and members of the NYSC Taraba State Governing Board, the Nigerian Army , the police, Department of State Service, Man 'o' war, Nigerian Security and Civil Defense corps, Red Cross and all mass media in the state.

Zainab Isa advised corps members to avoid frivolous journeys, be security- conscious and law-abiding at all times.

Also The Director General, National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Brigadier General Nnamdi  Okoye Affia has called on corps members to  contribute positively to the growth of the Nation via community development.
