Nigeria Police gets First Female Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG)

History was made, on Tuesday, as the Nigeria Police got its first female Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) and second- in-command to the Inspector-General of Police, Hafiz Ringim.
             
The new second-in-command to the IGP, Mrs Ivy Okoronkwo, was among the seven new DIGs promoted by the Police Service Commission.

Okoronkwo, who was until her promotion to the rank of DIG, was also the first female commissioner of police to command a state command in Ekiti State.
