Job Title: Technical Accounting Manager

Reporting To:   Senior Manager, Financial Reporting and Tax

Job Description:

•Providing guidance, standards and objectives for best practice

•Analyse, develop and manage the implementation of MTN Nigeria accounting policies across the organization in accordance with Nigerian and International Accounting standards

•Ensure the financial policies and procedures across the whole company are set in accordance with Group policy and Standards, South African GAAP and International Accounting Standards.

•Identify and manage risks associated with changing accounting environment impacting on financial reports

•Identify divergence in newly acquired businesses' accounting policies and practices and align with MTNN's established accounting policies and practices.

•Maintain and distribute accounting manual and ensure this is in compliance with IFRS, Nigerian GAAP and actual practices.

•Facilitate and participate in regular internal and external workshops/training regarding accounting issues and practices.

Job Conditions:   

•   Normal MTN N working conditions.

•   Extended working hours may be required

•   Ability to Travel Locally and Internationally if so required (Passport in Order)

Required Skills:

•B.Sc Accounting or related subjects.

•Professional Accounting Qualification (ICAN,ACCA etc)

•Minimum 7 years experience spanning the following

•3 years experience handling complex IFRS issues at an internationally affiliated audit firm.

•2 years finance experience within a telecommunication environment.

•2 years experience in a Financial Management capacity or 3 years audit experience.

•Process reengineering project experience

Qualification:

•   B.Sc Accounting or related subjects.

•   Professional Accounting Qualification (ICAN,ACCA etc)
