FUTA Suspended Strike, School and Exams Resume Immediately

The internal 1-week strike action by the staff of the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA) has been suspended. The strike occur because of the request by the staff of the university for the payment of the hazard allowance.

The suspension came Tuesday after Federal Government said that cash backing mapped out for the nation's universities had not yet been given to universities for payment of the Non Salary Allowances.

Students and staff of the University are by this notice informed to resume school immediately to begin the 1st Semester Examinations which were postponed due to the strike action.
