SSS intercepts 35 drums of chemicals in Kano

  SSS Director-General, Mr. Ekpeyong Ita  Security agent on Wednesday in Kano made another breakthrough in their war against the dreaded Boko Haram sect with the interception of 35 drums of highly combustive chemicals and powdery substances allegedly used for production of local bombs.

The Kano State Director of the  State Security Service, Bassey Eteng, disclosed this to reporters as he gave insight into how the operation carried out by men of the agency lead to the seizure of the highly inflammable chemicals.

The dangerous items were allegedly used for the production of Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs)  used by the sect in its attacks on the  city.

Eteng said the agency acted on the information provided by a suspected member of the sect currently assisting security operatives in their investigations into the group’s activities in the state.
