Position: Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist, Local Development Programme
Location : Port Harcourt (with visits to pilot states and local governments), NIGERIA
Application Deadline: 08-Jan-2010
Type of Contract: FTA International
Languages Required: English 
Starting Date (date when the selected canditate is expected to start): 01-Feb-2010
Duration of Initial Contract: One year

Education:
Master's or higher degree in social sciences.
Good computer, data and web based applications.

Experience:
Minimum of five years experience in setting up and implementing monitoring and evaluation systems.
Knowledge of and practical experience with the design and implementation of both quantitative (sample surveys) and qualitative (participatory research and evaluation) data gathering/research methodologies.
Strong analytical and conceptualization skills including ability to analyze and report on quantitative and qualitative data using applications such as SAS, SPSS or STATA.
Proven ability to design and deliver training; Knowledge of result-based management (RBM) will be an advantage

Language Requirements:
Excellent writing and oral skills in English is a fundamental requirement.
Good report writing skills.
