WORK HOURS: Full-time; 48 hours/week

SALARY: OR-Ordinarily Resident: N 1,393,164 per annum

(Starting basic Salary)

Position Grade: FSN-02

In addition to the basic salary, all allowances will be paid in accordance with the U.S. Mission Local Compensation Plan (LCP).

NOR-Not Ordinarily Resident:

EFM/MOH – US$17,803 (Starting Salary) per annum.

Position Grade: FP-DD

BASIC FUNCTION OF THE POSITION:

•   The incumbent operates and pilots U.S. Government boats and maintains the boat engines and other boat equipment.

•   It is the operators' responsibility to ensure the boat is seaworthy and in safe operating condition prior to leaving the dock.

•   The operator will inspect the boat and determine that all required operational and safety equipment is on board and in proper working condition.

•   He/she must verify that all safety rules including proper distribution of weight, and regulations pertaining to boat usage are adhered to, and report any violations to the General Services Office immediately.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

1. Basic Literacy is required.

2. Minimum of two (2) years of professional boat piloting experience on Lagos coast and near offshore waters is required.

3. Knowledge of boat and outboard motor operation and maintenance is required.

4. Level II (Limited knowledge) written and oral English is required. Level III (Good working knowledge) of any local language is required.

5. Thorough knowledge of Lagos Lagoon, creaks, and near offshore waters is required.

6. Must have current boat piloting license. Must be able to swim 50 meters continuously in open water.
