Governors Forum Nullifies Gbenga Daniel's Purported "Election" As Chair

Signs that President Goodluck Jonathan  would face a tough time navigating through the body of state governors emerged tonight as the forum nullified the purported election of his candidate, Governor Gbenga Daniel of Ogun State.

The organization met at the Governor's Lodge of the Kwara State government in Abuja this evening and decided to discard Daniel's purported election which had been carried out last Friday by a handful of PDP governors loyal to Jonathan.

At its meeting tonight the NGF decided that the current chair of the NGF, Governor Bukola Saraki of Kwara state continue with his role as chairman.

They also set up a committee headed by the governor of Lagos, Babatunde Fashola to review the procedures for electing a new chair and report back in three weeks.
