Yar’adua: Nigeria lost a true leader —Sambo

Vice President Muhammad Na-madi Sambo said the late President Umaru Musa Yar'adua was a committed leader that loved the entire people of the country.

Speaking at a book launch on the late President yesterday, Sambo said by the death of Yar'adua, the country lost an apostle of  'servant leadership'. He said "The late President popularised the concept of servant-leadership in Nigeria.

"It is a generally held belief that the late President Yar'Adua had wanted to genuinely and meritoriously serve the Nigerian people up to the end but his illness and eventual death cut short this avowed intention and service to the nation," he said.

He said the 7-Point agenda of Yar'adua's administration was well articulated and would solved several developmental challenges facing the country.

In his remark, Chairman of the occasion, Chief Solomon Lar, represented by Professor Jerry Gana, said the late Yar'adua was committed to the principles of transparency and Rule of Law.

He said the book titled: The Servant Leader 2 - 3 Years Presidential Watershed of Late President Umaru Musa Yar'Adua," is a must read for all serving and aspiring leaders.

In his speech, author of book, Emmanuel Adeda, said the book is his modest contribution to the leadership process in Nigeria.

The book was reviewed by Prof. Essiet U. Essiet of the Bayero University, Kano.
