Robot cars by early 2020, aims Japan

In ten years time Japan could be having driverless cars on their expressways according to discussions by Tokyo and carmakers. Talks are underway between the government and carmakers to put in place relevant policies that will see this process through.

Among the controversial issues debated is how to assign responsibility in accidents involving self driven cars. Relevant government ministries are working and discussing  clauses that has to be taken care of by the ministries.

Among the participating automakers are Nissan, Toyota, Honda and Mazda among others. Japan is taking a step ahead of the rest of the world to have robot cars on public roads.

It is a known fact that Japan is at the forefront of technology. This will another giant stride from the country. As planned, I believe all necessary precautionary measures will be handled adequately. No doubt, there will be casualties from the usage of the cars during the first launch but all the way... it is nice concept.
