Reports To:   Head-IT Project Management

Job Summary:

Plan, manage and allocate resources for the execution of IT projects in line with the needs of all business units in the organization and Etisalat Nigeria's business plan

Principal Functions:

Manage the execution of project-specific work programmes and plans in liaison with the IT Strategy, Planning & Architecture and Service Management teams

Provide advisory services to Etisalat Nigeria management on risk issues related to projects; recommend actions to mitigate such risks

Plan, manage and marshal resources effectively for the successful execution of IT projects

Develop and refine project plans and detailed work plans to effectively manage effort, scope, deliverables, milestones, resources, etc

Employ effective change, risk and communication management techniques and tactics to drive progress towards agreed goals

Conduct status update meetings and report project progress

Manage time, quality, scope and cost of project; correct any deviations from plan

Proactively identify reasons for delays in projects and plan activities to overcome such delays

Proactively identify and respond to risks/ escalated problems throughout the project life-cycle

Present final deliverables; initiate and conclude knowledge transfer activities

Complete documentation and knowledge management process for IT projects

Ensure adherence to documented project management standards and methodologies

Enforce strict compliance for and with all IT project changes, within approved IT project standards and policies

Prioritize and co-ordinate all IT project related tasks

Provide leadership and guidance to team members; manage subordinates' performance towards achievement of overall team objectives

Prepare and submit periodic activity and management reports for the attention of the Head-IT Project Management

Keep abreast of global and local best practices with regard to project management methodologies and frameworks

Plan and manage the human and material resources of project teams to optimize performance, boost morale and enhance productivity

Educational Requirements:

First degree or equivalent in IT, Computer Engineering, and/ or any other relevant discipline

Postgraduate/ professional qualification in a related field will provide an advantage

Project management certification is mandatory

Experience & Skills:

Between five (5) and eight (8) years directly relevant post-NYSC work experience, preferably in a formal project management role within a telecoms or other similar business environment
