A group, Edo Youths for Good Governance, EYGG, has charged President Goodluck Jonathan not to be taken in by the lure of 2015 in tilting undue support for the ACN candidate in the forthcoming gubernatorial election.

The group in a petition to the President pleaded with him to ignore what they described as the deceitful kite allegedly being spread by some PDP chieftains that he must deliver Edo State to the PDP to enable him get block votes from the South-South for his alleged 2015 presidential re-election bid.

In the petition by the group's President-General, Iyamu Osaro, it argued that President Jonathan is too enlightened to be cajoled into this type of devilish political machination of robbing Peter to pay Paul and empowering undemocratic elements which he promised to fight.

The petition reads in part, "Our worries stem from recent political behavioral pattern of some People's Democratic Party (PDP) chieftains in Edo state who want to grab political powers at all cost, get the President involved in the electoral malfeasance, rubbish his credentials and destroy his political future and career."

"W are not unaware that you have a duty to protect the interest of your party. We are also not oblivious of the fact that you are a father to all and the political Leader of Nigeria since the entire country is your constituency."

"If report reaching us in Edo State is anything to go by, that top ranking members of your party at the national and state levels, have renewed pressure on you and your good office to influence the July 14th gubernatorial elections, then there is cause for worry and fear for the hard-earned credentials you laboured to achieve over time, the country, Edo state and the polity. We hear the deceitful kite they are flying in town and which we urge you not to take with a pinch of the salt.

First and foremost, they raised the issue of 2015 and delegates."
