About This Job:  

•   Baker Hughes has an immediate opening for a Construction Project Manager located in Lagos or Port Harcourt, Nigeria, to manage the day to day development of a new build residential/office building in Lagos and a new build operations base in Port Harcourt.  This is a contract position for a period of 3 years.

Key Responsibilities / Accountabilities:

•   Assists operating divisions in analyzing office and warehouse requirements.

•   Develops creative solutions for real estate needs.

•   Identifies and selects engineering/architectural and contractor professionals.

•   Ensuring that all key deadlines are achieved.

•   Ensuring quality of work is of a very high standard.

•   Establish good relationships with clients and all key stakeholders.

•   Manage Clients expectations

•   Coordinate the design with the main contractor and BHI internal project team

•   Manage construction process of owner building projects.

•   Prepare quarterly budgets.

•   Prepare regular management reports.

•   Manage/control risk in all appropriate areas.

•   Ensure that all suppliers/sub-contractors comply with all relevant processes & systems, particularly Health & Safety

•   Travels 40% to 50% of the time, or as necessary.

•   Handles special projects, as assigned.

Essential Qualifications / Requirements:

•   Experience of multi storey building construction, industrial workshop projects, residential and office contracts

•   Candidates must have experience in working in this role for a Mainstream contractor for projects in excess of $20 million.

•   Capable of multi project management.

•   Proven negotiation skills.

•   An able communicator – Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

•   Thorough understanding of procurement methods

•   Commercially and Contractually aware

•   Detail oriented.

•   Proficient in Microsoft Office products, primarily Word, Excel and MS project (or other similar planning software).

Preferred Qualifications / Requirements:

•   Bachelor's Degree in a Construction Discipline

•   8+ years experience in related field (Design and Construction)
