Homemade satellite for $ 500

A south Korean artist fulfils his childhood dream after completing his basement-built satellite and now looking forward to its launch launch later this year. Song also encourages people to take his example and live to their dreams.

He spent six years combining through academic papers, shopping online and searchingthrouhg the electronics stores hidden in the back alleys of Seoul.

He also contacted space professionals from Slovenia to Paris who freely helped him with ideas as he was just but an individual who is passionate about technology and working on his self funded project.

The satellite that weighs about 1kg and measures 10 cubic centimeters will transmit infomation about working status of its battery, temperature and rotation speed of its solar panel.

The launch is expected to take place in Baikonur -  Kazakhastan.
