Job Description

•  Support the ED HR in developing and driving the HR strategy to actively support SCB in the attainment of its business goals in West Africa.

•  Provide support in the development and deployment of the Talent Strategy for Africa in alignment to the business talent plans.

•  Support & manage selected strategic projects and initiatives on behalf of the ED HR.

•  Assist the ED HR in driving productivity and performance through improved engagement

•  Provide planning, coordination and management support to ED HR

•  Provide relevant MIS to enable the achievement of business aspirations

Key Roles & Responsibilities

Strategy / Planning:

•  Develop and track the HR strategic plans for Nigeria, whilst overseeing the plans of the countries in West Africa, in line with the HR Target Operating Model.

•  Act as the coordinator for Africa on talent development initiatives in line with the Group talent agenda.

•  Design, develop and implement initiatives, in consultation with Group HR CoEs, which will help SCB become the "Employer of Choice" and strengthen our employer brand in West Africa.

•  Create an impact by managing selected strategic projects and initiatives on the ED's behalf.

•  Develop, review and recommend Human Resources policies and procedures to enable the countries to deliver their business strategy.

•  Take an active role in identifying issues, structuring work plans, designing and conducting researches & analyses to help implement change.

Business Management:

•  Regularly review HR process to improve service delivery; embed discipline and standards in all HR processes across West Africa

•  Ensure HR structure is aligned to business; HR productivity, HR headcount and cost are optimal across W/Africa.

•  Track and ensure country-specific regulatory reporting requirements are met across West Africa.

•  Track the implementation of any other Talent activities indicated by Group Talent across Africa.

•  Provide periodic reports on the health and progress of the talent pools/ their development within Africa.

•  Prepare performance management reviews/presentations as and when required.

•  Assist with planning and performance of key people management processes.

•  Ensure appropriate tracking / follow up mechanism in place to track progress against strategic priorities.

Qualifications & Skills:

•  Minimum 2:1 in any discipline from a reputable university

•  Self starter, ambitious, dedicated and results orientated.

•  Excellent communication skills, professional and flexible.

•  Ability to conduct research, prepare presentation materials and good analytical skills.

•  Innovative, pragmatic, commercial and customer focused.

•  Strong consulting and problem solving skills to respond effectively to business objectives.

•  Warm personality and ability to multi-task.

In compliance with the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Act of 2004, all applicants should ensure that they have completed the mandatory NYSC programme.
