Job Description:

•   Own quality & timely aspect of condition monitoring activities on rotating machine trains as per relevant applicable techniques / procedures and ensures compliance and implementation in totality.

•   Responsible for condition monitoring / reliability and performance evaluation aspect of the rotating machine trains, keeping records of acquired data and promptly proffering solutions to detect anomalies.

•   Performs periodic thermographic surveys on rotating and static machines with thermal profile peculiarities, analysing thermograms and preparing detailed reports showing areas with anomalies and remedial recommendations.

•   Performs In-situ dynamic balancing and laser alignment on rotating machines as required in the plant.

•   Performs wear and chain elongation measurements on selected plant machines as scheduled in CBM matrix providing reports comparing current values to standard tolerances.

•   Develops and implements new preventive maintenance procedures and condition monitoring programs.

•   Follow up execution of recommended remedial actions and resultant machinery performance/trends.

•   Makes timely requisition for procurement, repairs and calibration of CBM equipment and software modules.

•   Is responsible for all company tools provided for condition monitoring ensuring they are serviceable and always for use and notifying the Preventive Maintenance Manager when otherwise.

•   Performs any other duties as assigned by management not listed in this job description but which by its nature is found to have an impact on the overall performance of the department or the company.

Desired Skills & Experience:

•   Bachelor of Science/ Higher National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.

•   Should be experienced in the Vibration Monitoring services, Laser Alignment, and Balancing of machines

•   Should be knowledgeable in various Units of measurements in Engineering Science, and can read simple devices such as Venier Calliper, etc.

•   Knowledge/hand on experience of condition monitoring function will be added advantage.

•   At least 3 years working experience in Plant Maintenance Supervisory level.

PROFESSIONAL AND/OR TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES:

•   Bachelor in Mechanical/Electrical engineering, diploma required.

•   Minimum 3-5 years experience in Mechanical Engineering, including maintenance of rotating machines and Condition monitoring in Cement or heavy process plants.

•   Minimum ISO CAT 1/ASNT Level 1 Certification in Vibration Analysis.

•   Ability to create and work with graphs, charts, scales, plots, engineering drawings and tables.

•   Adequate Knowledge of Cement Industry equipment – function and maintenance (Rotary Kilns, Crushers, Stackers, Reclaimers, Ball mills, Vertical Mills, Belt Conveyors & Aux. Equipments)

•   Excellent knowledge of Condition monitoring techniques including; Vibration analysis, Oil analysis, Wear measurement, Thermography, liquid penetrant, Ultrasonic testing, magnetic particle, radiography and so on.

•   Proficiency in the use of any CBM Software Module (e.g. Emerson – AMS MHM, Commtest – Ascent, etc.) as well as Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Outlook, etc).
